Berry Breakfast Bars

I was honestly pretty amazed with how these berry oatmeal breakfast bars turned out. They're so quick and easy to make, and still taste delicious!

The first step is to mix together the applesauce, brown sugar, canola oil, and maple syrup.

Then add in the fresh berries.

The next step is to combine all the dry ingredients.

Combine both mixtures together, add the flour, pour into an oven safe dish, and bake for 20-25 minutes.

And then you're done!

Ingredients:

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 single serving applesauce cup (about 1/2 cup)

1/6 cup canola oil

1/2 tablespoon maple syrup

1 cup instant oats

1/3 cup all purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

A pinch salt

1/2 teaspoon ground allspice

1/2 teaspoon ground cloves

1/3 cup fresh raspberries

1/3 cup fresh blueberries

1/8 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

2. In a medium sized bowl combine the brown sugar, applesauce, canola oil, and maple syrup.

3. In a small bowl stir together oats, baking soda, salt, allspice, cloves, raspberries, blueberries and chocolate chips, saving three of each berry to decorate the top.

4. Combine both mixtures.

5. Add in the flour and mix until combined.

6. Spread batter into a small oven safe dish.

7. Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until edges brown slightly.

8. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 6-10 minutes.

9. Cut into 6 bars and enjoy!

Note: Although these can be enjoyed room temperature, I suggest microwaving for 15-20 seconds.
